Some people might cite "birds of a feather flock together". Some think "opposites attract". In my view, birds of a feather do flock togerther, but then one day they realize they have so many things in common that they feel no opposite attraction for their peers. Thus, I tend to come to friends who have something different from mine, and my best friend is among them. Although we are best friends, we usually have clashing opnion on different aspects from characters to tastes.
The first contrast is our personalities. My best friends is an extrovert. She can easily have smooth conversation with people for the first time she meets them. As a result, she has a big circle of friends. However, it is another story for me. I am quite introverted, and I only feel comfortable when I listen to people. I like to listen to her stories, and I think it is an useful way which helps my friend relieve her stress. In turn, she is always the person I come to for some tips when I am in trouble because she is sociable and has experience in solving problems.
THe second contrast comes from our different tastes for fashion. My best friend is an active girl, so her fashion style must be sporty. For me, I am in favored of classic. We usually have jokes on each other's style, but we never take it so serious. When I need sporty clothes, she becomes my best advisers; then, when she goes to parties where classic style is always the best option to think of, she comes to me as her mastermind.
To sum up, it is not always true that people with clashing personalities cannot get along well with others. My best friend and I are a good example of this exception. Though we are different from appearance to characters and tastes, and sometimes we have debates to support our opinion, we never end up in fighting because we know there is no right or wrong answer for opinion. We are different and together we help complete each other. That is the point we should consider when we decide to "flock" with "a bird" whose feather is different from ours.
